DEAD POETS SOCIETY MAIN TITLE
TITLE SEQUENCE, 3D ANIMATION
The 1950s was the golden age of capitalism, a period of conformity, and standardized mass production. At Welton Academy, students are expected to followed the educational tenets of honor, discipline, rigor, and conforming an arranged future. Welton's parents want their children to achieve academic excellence, regardless of their dreams and free will.
We compare this to “Trophy” referring to children who are groomed to be an achievement for their parents. By demonstrating the process of making a trophy resembling the “model citizen”, and transitioning into getting locked in a school trophy cabinet, we want to reveal the irony of the prestigious academy subconsciously producing trophy children.

STORYBOARD
The molten metal is gradually shaped on the mass production assembly line, eventually forming a human-shaped trophy holding a briefcase, symbolizing success. As the camera pulls away, the trophy is placed in the Hall of Fame cabinet, revealing all the other trophies. This symbolizes the entire elaborate production process, which, in fact, is nothing more than a mass production assembly line. When the cabinet is closed, the trophy is eventually sealed inside, just like how the students are controlled.
MOOD REFERENCE
In the entire process of trophy production, we want a mood transitioning from cold to warm, the trophy is also gradually produced from metallic liquid to gold and shining trophy with smooth surface.
