BIZEN GALLERY AOYAMA
BRAND PROMOTIONAL SEQUENCE, STYLEFRAMES
For the concept I would like to compare the process of Bizen ware firing, to the process after a volcanic eruption, by using the narrative and camera moving skill of misleading. Bizen Gallery is a Japanese art gallery specializing in and collecting Bizen pottery. The creation of Bizen can’t live without the observation of natural elements. The forms of the works are inspired by landscapes on earth such as mountains, rocks, cliffs, sunsets, and the moon. The view of nature and aesthetics brought about by Zen(禅宗) belief became the basis of Japanese art, and “Wabi-Sabi” was established in the tea ceremony.
The concept of the title sequence is trying to convey this spirit behind the Bizen ware. The firing process of Bizen ware is special in that it uses red pine wood, the ashes of it form a "natural glaze" on the surface of Bizen ware, which also becomes a random accent, so its appearance is unpredictable, like “Half man-made, half by providence”.

ABOUT WABI(侘び)-SABI(寂び) CULTURE
The word wabi-sabi originally means humble, but here it can be understood as a kind of spirit that does not need to be elaborate or decorative, but directly refers to its origin, while the word silence can be understood literally, silent, emphasizing a sense of beauty that does not depend on the outside.
